christmas-time-0071My name is Scott. I am a 57 year old husband and father of four children. My family and I live in a growing metropolitan area approximately 90 miles northwest of Houston, Texas.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and a Master of Arts in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

I worked in the heavy equipment industry, in inventory control and parts sales, for nine years between my graduation from A&M and and the beginning of seminary. Since graduation from Southwestern in 1985 I have been involved in vocational and bi-vocational ministry: vocationally, as a local church staff minister of missions ( “church starter strategist” ), pastor and a Baptist association missions coordinator; bi-vocationally, as a church planter and home-based minister to international students at the local university in our area.

While I am employed by a local independent school district in order to support my family and ministry to students, it is my prayerful desire to return to vocational ministry as a church staff minister of missions, if the Lord wills.

My blog, tangiblethoughts, will address subjects such as church planting, simple-church ministry, cross-cultural ministry, missional matters, and Reformed Theology-related subjects. I will, of course, be posting about other subjects as I am so moved.

So, welcome to my blog and my thoughts. Pour a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy. Your thoughts and comments are welcome.

I would appreciate your thoughts.

~ Blessings ~
